For the past handful of years, we’ve been fortunate to cover King County Bar Foundation’s Breakfast with Champions. This year’s keynote speaker was Ari Shapiro of NPR’s All Things Considered program. He was such an eloquent speaker and kept the entire room engaged and entertained. This being a presidential election year, of course politics and name-dropping of presidential candidates were part of his speech. He went on to tell us how various Presidents and candidates, past and current, win the people, or at least grab the people’s attention.
“You must appeal to their hearts…” He went on to say how politics, candidates, and elections are like a Hollywood movie — you must engage and connect with the people, you must entertain. And you know what? Ari Shapiro did just that.
In all the years taking photographs of this event, this is the first we’ve seen so many “selfie” requests with the keynote speaker. Come to think of it, we should have asked for a selfie!
